This detailed guide includes Tokyo and Yokohama and was third in this comprehensive series of guides compiled by the Imperial Government Railways of Japan. The project was started in 1909 by the then minister of communications Baron Goto. The idea was to produce 'A Japanese Baedeker' for Asia and this they did successfully replicating the quality and detail of the maps and information First edition. Small 8vo, x, 488pp, numerous maps and plans, some illustrations in text, one full page colour plate, previous owner's inscription on title-page: publisher's brown cloth gilt; a very good copy.
