Door Into the Dark. First edition, inscribed by the poet on the front free endpaper, "'So good luck and cheers!', Seamus Heaney. York - after the night of rabblement", and with the recipient Harry Chambers's ownership signature above. Chambers (1937-2012) met Heaney in the 1960s, when both were lecturing at Queen's University Belfast. He founded the Belfast literary magazine Phoenix, which published Heaney's early verses, and the Peterloo Press.
