The contents comprise 56 photogravures documenting the entire lumbering process, from stands of old-growth pine through felling, milling, and transportation. A fantastic record of the American timber industry from the period when it was becoming highly mechanised. Tall 4to; 56 photogravures, contents toned; original stiff cloth wrappers, cream with burgundy backstrip, titles gilt, wrappers a little rubbed and marked, a very good copy.
