An attractive watercolour by Spencer W Tart, an English architect and artist who made several trips to Saudi Arabia and the Arabian Gulf in the 1980s. He first visited Saudi Arabia in 1980, when he was invited to work on a conservation study of the historic city of Old Jeddah. The paintings he made of Jeddah, recording its remarkable maritime and architectural heritage, are his most recognisable and sought after.
