POPEYE No.70 (January 10, 1980) - THE IVY BOOK - Japanese Magazine Heibon Shuppan (now Magazine House), Tokyo, January 10, 1980. Japanese edition. Special issue: "THE IVY BOOK - This is POPEYE's Ivy!" A full feature on Ivy League style as seen by the Japanese "City Boys" of 1980 - preppy blazers, sweaters, shoes and campus life, plus New York shop guides and vintage ads (Onward on the back cover, Vega Quartz watches inside). CONDITION: Acceptable (used, 46 years old). Complete magazine, no clippings or writing. Overall: strong age toning. The top, fore-edge and bottom edges of the pages are heavily yellowed/browned from sunlight. Front cover: wear on the top-left and bottom-left corners. Spine (right-side binding): a small tear at the top, and a split along the spine below the lower staple. Back cover: dull overall with many spots/stains. Inside: the bottom corners of pages 39 and 41 are creased/folded. The previous owner also noted scuffs, sun fading, small scratches and bent corners on the covers. Please check all photos.
