Studying under conceptual theorist Allan Sekula at Ohio State University, Brohm broke w/ the black-and-white documentary traditions that dominated European fine art photography at the time to record the post-industrial fabric of central Ohio. Scenes focus on overlooked vernacular architecture, gravel car lots, suburban backyards, and roadside transit junctions, recording the quiet economic transition of Rust Belt communities. Produced by Steidl in Gottingen, Germany, the volume reproduces Brohm's full-page color and monochrome photographs printed on heavy mat
