Scarce unrevised proof copy, signed by the author on the title page, with the projected publication details completed in pen on the front wrapper, a photocopy of a pre-publication advertisement mounted to the first blank, and the contents paginated by hand in ink.Although Exterminator! announces itself as a novel, it is a short story collection, distinct from The Exterminator, a collection of stories Burroughs published in 1960 in collaboration with Brion Gysin. Both titles were inspired by Burroughs's experience working as a door-to-door insect exterminator in Chicago in the early 1940s.
