Company School (19th century) Study of the facade of a Hindu temple, or religious site, brush and ink, watercolour, over pencil, on Whatman wove paper without watermark (but the same paper stock as previous lot, dated 1820), ink inscription by an English hand to upper right that reads 'Front view of a Hindoo Temple', sheet 378 x 540 mm (14 7/8 x 21 1/4 in), marginal nicks and tears, some soft creases and handling creasing, minor surface dirt, unframed, [circa 1820] Provenance:Private collection, UK (acquired in UK art market c.1970s)
