Butor was a French poet and novelist whose experimental style of writing won critical acclaim in the 1950s. He was awarded the Grand Prix by the Académie Française in 2013. First edition, one of 150 copies, this numbered 149 on the justification and signed in pencil by the artist and author on the half-title, folio (48 x 40 cm); complete with nine lithographs in colour after Vasarely, each signed in pencil, text in French and plastic overlay in German, loose as issued, silver endpapers; original black cloth with design in blue after Vasarely, plastic dust jacket printed in white, in the original printed box, box stained otherwise a fine copy.
