A beautiful 1987 First Edition hardcover printing of "Growing Through History With Colorado: The Colorado National Banks, The First 125 Years (1862–1987)" by regional historian Thomas Jacob Noel. This premium volume features a PROVENANCE EXCLUSIVE: THE BOARDROOM MYSTERY INSCRIPTION This specific volume features a significant corporate association inscription dated October 8, 1987. The title page features a handwritten note signed presumably by DALE BROWNING—then-President of the Colorado National Bank and the globally legendary "Father of the PLUS System" who pioneered the modern international ATM cash network. Browning writes a warm note to a close corporate contemporary: "Ron: Many thanks for your personal support in the past and in the future! Dale 10-8-87" Who was Ron? An internal board director during the volatile 1980s banking shifts? A key financial ally in Denver's commerce district? This piece offers a rare peek behind the executive boardroom doors of Western finance, signed directly by one of the prominent figures profiled inside its own pages (see Chapter 7, Page 130). Who else besides the author would have reason to inscribe a personal copy of this particular book as a thank you? I emailed the author for more context but I have not received a response. So, I'm passing the mystery onto you to solve. Happy sleuthing!! A true treasure for collectors of Western Americana, corporate financial history, or banking network ephemera.
