London: John Camden Hotten, circa 1870 . Handsomely bound second edition of this early biography of the Victorian novelist, published the same year of the author's death. Very good. Item #56371 A necessarily hasty biography, compiled with the argument that there is nothing necessarily indelicate or improper in the desire of the public to obtain some personal knowledge of the great and good who have just passed away
