important persian universal history The Habib al-Siyar is a general historical treatise, notably dealing with the reigns of Sultan Husayn Bayqara and Shah Esma'il I Safavi, completed by Khvandamir in 1524. First edition in print, four parts in one volume, lithographed in Farsi, lacking preliminary leaf, 4to, text lithographed in single column, nastaliq script with catch-words and patingaiton, opening of each section with decorated head-piece, a few outer margins slightly creased else very clean and crisp internal condition; contemporary full Indian goatskin over boards, spine gilt in compartments with title lettered in gold, spine and extremities rubbed, covers a little scuffed, creases cracked. Dimensions; 320 x 210mm (12½ x 8¼ inches).
