Nada' 'uman ila al-dhamir al-'alami! First edition of this otherwise unrecorded pamphlet by the Omani Nationalist Forces on the "atrocities and brutalities of the British Forces in Oman" - a rare survival from the publications of the Bureau of Imamat Oman. With seats in Cairo, Damascus, and Baghdad, the Bureau was established in the 1950s to support the liberation of Oman. The pamphlet decried the violent repression of revolts in support of Imam Ghalib in 1959. Imam Ghalib opposed the government of Said bin Taimur, ruler of the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman, which had obtained British-supported independence in 1951. The struggles of the Omani people are attributed to the "war of extermination and terrorism" of the British military authorities, unmentioned by the world press. The photographs show British soldiers "joking merrily at the view of destruction" over Jebel Akhdar, and the ruins left by aerial operations in Nizwa. The final section summarizes the activities of the Omani Nationalist Forces in 1959.
