Churchill, P.C., C.H., M.P. with the author's compliments". A tipped-in note reads, "Churchill, who did not know Serbo-Croat, gave the book to William Deakin, his literary assistant from 1936-40 and 1945-55, who did, and from whose library this volume originates".The book is a political and ethnographical study of the Little Entente (the alliance of Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, and Romania, active from 1921 to 1938) and its relations with Poland.
