Mind Out of Matter : Topics in the Physical Foundations of Consciousness and Cognition, Hardcover by Mulhauser, Gregory R., ISBN 0792351037, ISBN-13 9780792351030, Like New Used, Free shipping in the US Introduces a novel approach to the mind/body problem that integrates scientific and philosophical concepts and combines computational and dynamic approaches. A theory that unifies conscious experience with the material world emerges from adopting a perspective according to which the conscious subject (the "I" of personal experience) is a materially instantiated structure of dynamically changing information. Debunks quantum theories of consciousness, and looks at recent research on chaotic analogue networks. For those interested in philosophy of mind, cognitive science, and artificial intelligence.
