Myths & Legends of the Celtic Race. First edition, a highly illustrated compendium of "the early history, the religion, and the mythical and romantic literature of the Celtic race" (p. ix). The author was involved in many societies concerned with promoting Irish literature, including the Rhymer's Club, which he instigated with W. B. Yeats. He also published prose and poetry based on Celtic folklore.Rolleston also founded the Dublin University Review with Charles Hubert Oldham in 1885. Under their stewardship, the magazine was the first to publish W. B. Yeats, Katharine Tynan, and the first English translations of Turgenev.It was published in Harrap's "Myths" series.
