The Collected Works. The Memorial Edition, number 170 of 509 sets. This smartly bound collection includes three posthumously published works: Conrad's last, unfinished, novel, Suspense (1925), the collection Tales of Hearsay (1925), and Last Essays (1926).The edition was planned while the author was still alive, as 399 signed sets. The author died in 1924 having only signed 99 sets, and the publishers changed the edition to the Memorial Edition, with 99 sets signed, 400 issued unsigned, as here, and a further 10 sets for private distribution.
