The Undertaker, Pushkin's supernatural short story was first published in Belkin's Tales in 1831. This charming illustrated edition appeared in Berlin at the height of Russian émigré publishing. Notably scarce, we could only locate two copies in libraries: Harvard and the State Library of New South Wales. First edition, 4to; illustrations throughout after Zarektsky; original blue printed wrappers, slightly sunned at margins, repairs to spine, a very good copy.
