c.1853 with no later dates or further printing information listed. It is stated Fourth Edition which may mean it was printed in 1858 [based on date on internal references]. Previous owner's inscriptions date from 1980s, so no later than that, and I believe earlier. Advertisements for Mackey's other masonic books inside front and back covers. Illustrated with drawings and and antique etchings. Cover and spine are gilt decorated ~ front cover features a fully gilt emblem of The Ark of the Covenant. This antique red hardcover book is in very good condition, with no text notes, margin writings or underlinings. Previous owner's name/dated inscriptions inside front cover only [see photo]. It is NOT ex-library. Spine and binding are complete and all pages are secure; hinges are strong and straight. Pages are age-spotted throughout BUT completely readable. Some edge and corner wear to cover boards only. Book is very attractive and displays beautifully. Please view all photos and ask questions before bidding.
