A Time for Remembering: The Ruth Bell Graham Story. First edition, the author's retained copy, inscribed by Cornwell on the front blank, "From the library of Patricia Daniels Cornwell, January 13, 1984, Richmond". This is one of two copies specially bound in red leatherette and gilt-lettered. Later, Cornwell gifted the book, perhaps to her ex-husband Charles Cornwell; the couple divorced in 1989. She inscribed the half-title recto and verso, writing "To Charles, this is not my best work but it is my first … you have touched my life and now my debt is larger. Love, Patsy. 10-Oct-91, Los Angeles". A Time for Remembering is an authorized biography of the Christian author Ruth Bell Graham (1920-2007), whom Cornwell met when she was a child. Graham became a mother figure, mentor, and friend to Cornwell, a relationship which Cornwell describes in her inscription: "Ruth's biography is, in truth, a story not yet told. It began with the kindness of a fine lady towards an insignificant small town girl". She also states that Graham owns the second of the two red copies.
