First edition of Waugh's first collection of short stories. The title story was the basis for Sam Hopkinson's 2006 film of the same name, starring Andrew Sachs and Richard Bremmer. First edition, first impression; 8vo; frontispiece, slight age-toning, New York bookseller's ticket to rear pastedown, else unmarked internally; publisher's black and red patterned cloth by G. J. Kitcat utilising their patented 'Flexiback Binding' with reinforced hinges, gilt lettering to spine, with the original unclipped pictorial dust-jacket, browned and lower panel lightly tanned, with a few negligible chips and tears at head and tail of spine as well as at folds, else very good.
