This section of the Cantos derives its name from the title of a review by Wyndham Lewis in the New Stateman and Nation (7 April 1951): 'The Rock Drill,' itself is a reference to Jacob Epstein's sculpture of the same name. One of 2081 copies printed by offset from the first edition. First American (offset) edition, first printing; 8vo; slight age-toning, else unmarked internally; publisher's black cloth, silver lettering to spine, corners slightly rubbed, faint spotting to top edge, with the unclipped pictorial dust-jacket, spine and edges slightly toned, else very good.
