First edition; large 8vo (25.8 x 16.6 cm); black letter, wood engravings by Ann Gillmore Carter, slight offsetting to endpapers, else unmarked internally; publisher's cream paper covered boards, pictorial vignette and title to upper board in black, titles to spine in black, extremities toned, boards slightly rubbed and marked, more so to upper board, else very good.
