AN ASTRONOMICAL DIARY, KALENDAR, OR ALMANACK, FOR THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 1792.... A very clean copy of this 1792 almanac, calculated by Yale's first Professor of Mathematics and Natural Philosophy. In addition to the usual calendars and notices, this year's almanac contains a handful of moral and humorous prose snippets and jokes, including the story of "The Two Bees" and a short paragraph lambasting a student for his "inelegant" pronunciation of Vergil (i.e. with a W). The illustration is of a projected eclipse.
