Elia and the Last Essays of Elia, Vol.1&2.

£400 · Offered by Maggs Bros Ltd

Very good, covers slightly faded and soiled, extremities rubbed. Lovely engravings, add period flavour to the volume. Garnett founded the Nonesuch Press and was a member of the Bloomsbury Group, continuing the family legacy of professional bibliophilia (both his father and grandfather worked in the British Library, which was then within the British Museum). He eventually married the Angelica Bell, daughter of his lover Duncan Grant.
