CUMMINGS, E. E.

£1,500 · Offered by Peter Harrington · No longer available

Is 5. First edition. The book was Cummings's fourth volume of poetry, and includes "since feeling is first", considered one of his finest poems. Alongside Tulip and Chimneys, & and XLI Poems, this collection established Cummings's reputation as an avant-garde poet.Asked by his publishers to explain his style, Cummings stated in his foreword that "my theory of techique, if I have one, is very far from original; nor is it complicated... If a poet is anybody, he is somebody to whom things made matter very little - somebody who is obsessed by Making" (p. [vii]).
