Saul Raskin (1878-1966) was a Russian born Jewish-American artist, writer and educator best known for his depiction of Jewish subjects. He was a member of the 'American Watercolor Society', the 'Society of American Etchers', the 'Audubon Artists' and the 'New York Watercolor Club'. Raskin was a Zionist and made many trips to the land (later - The State) of Israel and stayed at the kibbutz Ramat Yochanan on many of his visits. This portrait lithograph of Dr Theodor Herzl is titled in the plate in Hebrew with Herzl's Hebrew name: Binyamin Zeev. Lithograph, signed and titled in the plate, framed and glazed; some browning and cracks to mount. Plate size: 24 x 19 cm, framed size: 45.5 x 39.5 cm.
