one of 50 copies Scarce Gill item, compiled and printed by Douglas Pepler without Gill's knowledge or consent. Gill moved away from Ditchling, to Capel-y-Ffin in Wales, and wanted to take the engraved woodblocks with him as his personal property. Pepler claimed they belonged to the St. Dominic's lay order and press and so kept them, resulting in Gill's refusal to speak to Pepler again. Limited edition, number 11 of 50 copies numbered by hand, from a total edition of 150; large 4to; title page with wood-engraved figurative initial, publisher's device printed in red, 32 wood-engravings each on a separate page; original cream cloth, upper cover slightly marked, slight offsetting to endpapers, edges uncut, a very good copy.
