About the Item For sale is an original Valentino Atelier fabric portfolio for the Spring/Summer 1986 haute couture collection, Edition No. 115. Produced by Gruppo Finanziario Tessile of Turin for Valentino’s Haute Couture Fabrics Division, this trade-only reference volume was distributed to ateliers, dressmakers, and textile buyers for ordering Valentino fabrics by the meter. The folio pairs full-color fashion illustrations with more than 75 original hand-tipped fabric swatches used for the collection, including silks, tweeds, cottons, wools, printed textiles, and embroidered fabrics. Included are the hardbound folio, original black V-monogram clamshell box, GFT ordering letter, original price list and fibre-composition key, and the original trade business card identifying the Chicago recipient. Printed on fine, textured paper with embossed/de-bossed details in silver and gold-colored foils. Folio remains in excellent condition with no missing pages or missing swatches; all 75+ fabric samples are intact and securely attached. Interior pages are clean and well-preserved. Original clamshell box shows surface rubs, some staining, and storage wear consistent with age. A very nice example. Item sold as photographed.
