First published in 1965, this novel was the first written, though seen as the last chronologically, in a trilogy dedicated to the history of 3 actual St. Simons Island, Georgia families. Eugenia Price and her life partner, Joyce Blackburn, fell in love with St, Simons Island when passing through and decided to build a home there in the 1960s, where they lived for decades. A writer, herself, Joyce Blackburn wrote the children's Suki series, beginning in the 1960s. 3 of The Suki books are offered in this bundle, as a tribute to these women, who were beloved St. Simons Island community members.
