A rare children's book printed by Knebel, one of the most important publishers of Russian picture books. This copy is inscribed 'Barto' on the upper cover, which could perhaps be the famous Soviet children's writer, Agniia Barto. Folio (29.5 x 21.5 cm); 24pp. illustrated throughout, the first and last illustrations are printed upside down, repairs to spine and some tape repairs to short tears; original printed wrappers, loss to margin of upper cover, ink ownership and gift inscription to upper cover, a fair copy.
