A rare report of a Warren, New Hampshire murder trial that took place in Plymouth in the midst of the Civil War. The report includes testimony from about thirty witnesses and others with knowledge of the relationship between the accused, James M. Williams, and the man he shot, Vanness Wyatt. "There was apparently bad blood between the victim and prisoner for they reached for weapons on meeting on a road and Wyatt was killed. The claim of self-defense at least produced a disagreement by the jury" - McDade. OCLC records just eight physical copies.
