Sledges to the Rescue. First edition, signed by the author on the title page. Loosely inserted is a signed postcard from Briggs dated 9 October 2018 in which he describes aspects of the book's production: "This book dates from the time when publishers had to economise. So the 3 colours were all done in block, exactly like doing lithography at art school". The postcard promotes the 2016 film Ethel & Ernest, based on Briggs's 1998 graphic novel of the same name about his parents. Sledges to the Rescue similarly draws on autobiographical elements and features "Ernie the Milkman", based on Briggs's father.
