The Heroes, or Greek Fairy Tales for My Children. First Flint edition, number 365 of 500 copies printed on handmade paper. There were also 12 copies printed on vellum. Green stated that "no one has caught the magic and the music and the wonder of the old Greek legends as Kingsley did" (p. 132). Kingsley's collection is complemented in this edition by Flint's illustrations.Gardner notes that reprints of this title in the 1920s included only 9 of Flint's original 12 colour plates. The 15 stories feature Perseus, Theseus, and the Argonauts. Accompanying this copy are two contemporary promotional bookmarks from the Riccardi Press and the Medici Society.
