Last Year's Photographs Limited Edition by Nobuyoshi Araki, 2016 Description Last Year's Photographs Limited Edition is a captivating photo book by renowned Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki. Influenced by his father, a geta craftsman and amateur photographer, Araki began his journey in photography, eventually graduating from Chiba University's Department of Photography and Printing Engineering. After joining Dentsu, he utilized company equipment to explore new photographic art forms. This book features unpublished works from 1975 to 1976, compiled by the Japan Professional Photographers Society (FAPA). Araki captures everyday scenes from Tokyo's bustling districts like Shinjuku and Ginza, as well as his birthplace in Adachi Ward, Minowa. The design of the book's cover mimics a photographic paper box, similar to his work in Love Theatre. This limited edition is one of only 500 copies, making it a rare collector's item. Araki's work offers a unique glimpse into the urban landscape and cultural atmosphere of 1970s Japan, showcasing his ability to find beauty in the mundane.
