The Works. A smart set of Dyce's edition. Alexander Dyce (1798-1869) was one of the principal editors for Pickering's prestigious Aldine Edition of the British Poets, before turning to his own complete edition of Shakespeare. The revised second edition of this "became widely accepted as the most authoritative text then available" (ODNB). The third edition, present here, was completed after his death by John Forster.
