'The work consists of two sections, one on the state of the Turkish government in Damascus, and the other an account of the Christians in the Lebanon' (Blackmer). The Comte de Paris travelled in Syria in 1860. He was the son of the Duc d'Orleans. First edition, 8vo, vii, 136 pp., original blind-stamped brown cloth gilt, uncut, a fine copy.
