AMONG THE SELKIRK GLACIERS BEING THE ACCOUNT OF A ROUGH SURVEY IN THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGIONS OF BRITISH COLUMBIA. The author was a noted Irish alpinist. Green was a civil servant and one of the first to climb Canada, making the first ascent of Mt. Bonney in the Selkirks in 1888. Lowther quotes the Canadian Alpine Journal as stating of him: "...Highly regarded as an explorer and mountaineer, his survey of the Selkirks being carried out at a time when no map, except that of the railway itself, existed."
