City of Angels. First edition, first printing, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "For Clive - with appreciation - best Larry Gelbart". Clive Hirschhorn (b. 1940), was the film and theatre critic for the Sunday Express for over three decades. His ownership inscription, dated 1991, appears on the front pastedown.Loosely inserted is a theatre ticket dated 6 May 1990 for the first production of the play, which ran at the Virginia Theater (now the August Wilson theater), in New York from December 1989 to January 1992. The production won several Tony Awards, including Best Book of a Musical.
