This is the scarce first Dutch edition of this Arctic voyage on the Pandora in 1875, a last-ditch effort to locate missing written records of the lost Franklin expedition. The expedition was partially funded by Lady Franklin, who died shortly after Young and his team sailed from Southampton. The expedition was also an attempt to reach the magnetic pole in Baffin Bay and Lancaster Sound, and also to navigate the Northwest Passage.
