Styled third edition on the copyright page. A number of men were tried for acts of piracy committed in 1832 against the U.S. brig Mexican. While sailing aboard the Panda, the pirates attacked the Mexican, seized $20,000 and headed for Africa. They hid out at the island of Fernando Po until they were captured by an English brig of war and extradited to Massachusetts. After an 1834 trial, seven of the twelve men were convicted and sentenced to death. This pamphlet contains a statement of the testimony, the lawyers' arguments, and the charge and verdict. Illustrated with a number of profile portraits of the condemned men.
