Marianne Thornton 1797-1887. A Domestic Biography. First edition, signed by the author on the title page, his printed name struck through. The captioned date of the frontispiece has also been corrected in ink, from 1873 to 1876. Thornton, Forster's great-aunt, was an activist who campaigned for the abolition of slavery.
