Sam the Sudden. First edition. The story features Lord Tilbury, who first appeared Bill the Conqueror the preceding year, and later in Heavy Weather (1933), part of the Blandings Castle series. It also debuts several characters who return in later works, including Money for Nothing (1928), Money in the Bank (1946), and Ice in the Bedroom (1961).The US edition was published a month later as Sam in the Suburbs, the title under which the serialized version appeared in the Saturday Evening Post.
