A very good first edition set of this scarce Victorian three-decker, in the original publisher's binding. The work seems to defy easy categorisation, but is certainly uncommon, we could only locate four copies listed on Copac. 3 vols, first edition; 8vo; splitting to a few endpapers, each front free endpaper with contemporary ownership inscription; publisher's green cloth blocked in black wit gilt letting to spines, some minor bumping, a few minor marks upper cover of vol.II, overall very good.
