REPORT OF SPECIAL COMMITTEE OF THE SENATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, ON SO MUCH OF GOV. ADAMS' MESSAGE AS RELATES TO THE SLAVE TRADE [cover title]. Report submitted to the South Carolina Senate, which concludes that slavery is essential to the agricultural production of the South. Additionally, the committee felt that the slave trade helped relieve Africa from "the pressure of a redundant population, as might be afforded by emigration in the only form in which its benefits can be extended to them."
