Wyse was appointed Ambassador to Athens in 1849, and after the outbreak of the Crimean War, in which Greece tried to assist Russia, virtually governed Greece together with the French envoy. First edition, 2 vols royal 8vo, xiv, 314; xii, 343 pp., 2 etched frontispieces, folding map, 22 etched plates, original purple blindstamped cloth gilt, a very good set. Balackmer 1847.
