Lieutenant General Sir William Francis Butler (1838-1910) was a member of the Red River Expedition, deployed to confront Métis politician and revolutionary Louis Riel is his attempt to liberate the region from colonial settlers. There is much in this book on the Indigenous Nations of the Hudsons Bay region and Manitoba.
