LETTRE DE L'ASSEMBLÉE PROVINCIALE PERMANENTE DU NORD DE SAINT-DOMINGUE, A MONSIEUR LE GOUVERNEUR GÉNÉRAL, ET ARRÊTÉ DE LADITE ASSEMBLÉE POUR LA DISSOLUTION DE L'ASSEMBLÉE DE SAINT-MARC ... Dated July 30, 1790, this letter, already a bit late given events in Saint Domingue, demands the use of force by the Governor General to dissolve the rival legislative assembly at Saint Marc. Revealing of the profound disagreements between colonists regarding the future of the island, this letter contains all the motifs of dissatisfaction aroused in the period just prior to the Rebellion. A scarce Saint Domingue imprint, with only a handful of copies noted in OCLC.
