A set of four books on TSUBA and Japanese sword accessories Here is a set of four books on TSUBA (Japanese sword guards) and Japanese sword accessories. All four books are out of print or out of publisher. Please contact us with any queries or to request additional photographs. 1. "Sword Guard Masterpieces" Edited and Published by the Society for Preservation of Japanese Art Swords in 1952. First edition, with 159 illustrated leaves, in box. A separate volume (commentary) is included. Contents are written in English and Japanese. Condition Acceptable conditions. The storage box shows signs of aging and wear. Many of the illustration sheets have stains caused by aging. Photos are provided for the sheets with noticeable stains. The accompanying booklet has stains on the cover due to aging, but the pages themselves have no noticeable dirt. 2. "Tsuba-taikan" by KAWAGUCHI Noboru First edition, published by Nanjinsha in 1935. Green leather-bound hardcover, approximately 1054page, the top edge gilt. This book contains approximately 650 photographic illustrations of tsuba. Of these, 15 are color's plates. All content is in Japanese. Condition In very good Condition. Cover shows age and handling wear. Age-toning to edges of book. Otherwise, the book is in very good overall condition for its age.
