Black background with red/orange circle and face in sideview. Publisher on front. Rippling, edge wear w/ color loss. Edge chipping. Moisture damage on DJ back-photo image of P. Dick. Staining. Flaps present. Price unclipped. Again, heavy moisture damage. Rust colored cloth boards w/ gilt titles at spine. Silver lettering. Boards faded and stained. Boards warped from moisture. Book press has reduced severity of bow but still present. Pastedowns (front/back) destroyed. Hinge mesh visible; splitting present. Staining continues on to 1st title page. Fore edge has localized staining. Stated first edition, with Doubleday code of O50 on p. 231 offset from hinge/spine. Remaining interior pages are generally clean. Binding is solid. A futuristic dystopian novel. Nominated for a Nebula Award in 1974, a Hugo in 1975 and was awarded the John W. Campbell Memorial Award in 1975, it is one of Dick's most sought-after titles.
